Floratam® St. Augustine
Floratam St. Augustine was released in the early 1970s by the Florida and Texas Agricultural Experiment Stations. It requires more than six hours of sunlight and grows vigorously in warm weather. Floratam is not as cold tolerant as common St. Augustine. It may suffer freeze damage when temperatures fall below freezing for extended periods.
